Update From The Revenue House:…
Leveraging on the vision and aspirations of the Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR of transforming the State into a livable and prosperous homeland, the management of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service AiRS yesterday ay Friday February 16 ,2024 organized an intensive training session with all the tax stations under Anambra Central Geopolitical zone. The meeting which had all the Tax Station Managers, and the Staff under the zone attended was held at the Training Hall, Revenue House, Awka.
The training was ably convened by the Senior Special Assistant to Gov Chukwuma Soludo on IGR (Technical), Mrs Oyeka Amara Kate FCA FCTI with the purpose of refreshing the tax memories of the staff at various tax stations and as such equip them with the knowledge of all the tax nomenclatures with a view to increasing the State Internally generated revenue. In her words, she maintained that one of the reasons for coming up with this training was for every staff member to be able to assimilate all they need to know as tax men and women, and perhaps become holistic tax administrators so that when they go back to their various stations they\’ll be fully equipped to professionally attend to our taxpayers.
Heads of Departments such as; Direct Assessment- Mr Herbert Ofomata, PAYE- Mrs.Chika Obiano, Capital Gains Tax- Mr. Emeka Anyaneto , Withholding Tax- Mr. Francis Ezenwa represented by Miss Onyema Nzekwu , Legal Dept, Stamp Duty- Obele Edith Onyi Okeke , ICT AiRS- Mr Edwin Chukwuma Udeh, Business Premises- Mr. Mike as well as the AiRS Solution Platform Provider, Oasis Management Technologies represented by Mr. Nonso Ojukwu were all invited as resource persons to speak separately on their various field of expertise and they did wonderfully well in that regard.
Addressing the participants, the Executive Director in charge of Direct Assessment AiRS, Mr Ben Anierobi Okafor enjoined them to attentively listen to every knowledge been transfered to them at the training in order to be able to put them to good use which will eventually translate to increase in the State IGR while commending and reposing his confidence on the SSA on iGR Technical, Mrs Oyeka for bringing her vast experience to bare in organizing the training.
The Training Facilitator, Mr Herbert Ofomata logistically did a yeoman\’s job in making sure that the training recorded a successful outing.
Towards the end of the training, the Chairman/Chief Executive Anambra State Internal Revenue Service AiRS, Dr Greg Ezeilo FCA ACTI briefly addressed the audience with words of encouragement while urging them to continue to grow from strength to strength in the quest to increase the State IGR. He also added that there will be a lot of incentives from the State governor if there\’s a quantum leap of the revenue figures to at least 4billion monthly.
