AiRS Lauches New Tax Hub For Market Payment.

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, The Management of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service AiRS in partnership with the Fidelity Bank Plc Commissions Tax Hub for Payment of Market Levy.

The AIRS Tax Hub was part of the innovative initiated by the AiRS Executive Chairman, Dr. Greg Ezeilo, FCA, ACTI powered by Fidelity Bank Nigeria, Awka. The Bank as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility supported the project by providing about Ten Different Tax Hubs to the AiRS. This is expected to provide a seamless tax payment process and as a result bring tax hub closer to the market.

In a remark, the AiRS Chairman, Dr. Greg Ezeilo expressed his excitement while describing the Tax Hub as a “Dream Come Through” for him and the entire AIRS team. He emphasized that the initiative was developed to enhance revenue collection, particularly in the markets. He also termed the project as “Living with the Market Operators”. Dr. Ezeilo stated that the 10 smart hubs are fully equipped with 24-hours Solar Power Supply, Laptops, Printers, Enumerators, as well as Tax Assessment officers. He also used the opportunity to thank Fidelity Bank for their significant contribution in making the Tax Hubs a reality.

The Chief of Staff to Gov Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, in his reaction commended the efforts of the AIRS Chairman and Fidelity Bank. He applauded the innovative approach and encouraged Taxpayer”s to ensure strict compliance. He also used the opportunity to officially Commissioned the Tax Hubs on behalf of the Governor and the people of Anambra State while expressing hope that the initiative will support market growth and economic prosperity in Anambra State.

The Executive Director, Direct Assessment AiRS *Mr. Benjamin Okafor delivered the vote of thanks and appreciated the Chief of Staff for finding time to attend the event despite his busy schedule. He also stated that the initiative would help the state achieve its targeted Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Also present at the event were some of the representatives from Fidelity Bank Plc were; Mr. Nosa Orumwense (Regional Head), Mrs. Chinenye Ekpe (Branch Manager, Ziks Avenue), and Mr. Tochukwu Nnadi (Express Branch Manager, Awka 2). In their separate speech expressed their excitement partnering with AIRS on this project and hoped their contribution would create a positive impact in the revenue collection and administration of the State even as they also pledged their continued collaboration with the state.
