The Management of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service AiRS earlier today Friday 3rd January 2025 had a strategic meeting with various Heads of Departments, Direct Assessment , Zonal Tax Coordinators and Tax Station Managers of the agency in order to discuss the way forward for 2025 Revenue Year.
The meeting was convened by the Executive Chairman AiRS, Dr Greg Ezeilo FCA ACTI at the Training Hall, Revenue House Awka.
Addressing the audience, The AiRS Chairman, Dr Ezeilo used the opportunity to welcome them back for the new year and urged them to brace up for the year 2025. He also admonished them to ensure that “no single taxable business in the State is left uncaptured into the tax datanet beginning from next week Tuesday” This is in tandem with the vision of steadily increasing the State IGR and also help in boosting the State economy and the Governors vision of transforming the State into a livable and prosperous home land. Obviously the State has been turned into a construction site courtesy of taxpayers money.
Speaking at the meeting, The Senior Special Assistant to Gov Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR on IGR Technical, Mrs Oyeka Amara Kate FCA FCTI stated that one of the major reasons for the meeting was for the agency to do a thorough appraisal of what what we did last year and the. start early preparation as it concerns proper revenue administration and collection. Also to reiterate the Chairman’s intention to review the effectiveness of some of the internal restructuring that was initiated sometime last year and see how the agency can inject more personnel to various outstations to augument what was on ground with a view to increasing the State Internally Generated Revenue.
After a long hours of brainstorming and strategizing with the Chairman, SSA and the Tax Coordinators, Station Managers and Heads of Department present, the meeting ended with one common agenda of working hard to increase the State IGR..
Other members present at the meeting were; HOD Direct Assessment AiRS, Mr. Herbert Ofomata, HOD Admin AiRS, Mr Nwalusi IIfeanyi, Head, HNI Dept AiRS, Mrs Juliet Nwakpadolu amongst others.
