Update from Anambra 2020 Tax Awareness Week…..
The second-day activity of the Tax Awareness Week began with a TV program at ABS, ‘Goodmorning Anambra’, where the Chairman/Chief Executive of AiRS, Dr. David Nzekwu, the President of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Dame Gladys O. M. Simplice and the Representative of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) were guests. They discussed the theme of the Tax Week’ ‘Voluntary Compliance to Tax Payment’. This discussion was very interesting as it came from two gurus in Tax matters.
At the end of the TV program at ABS, the team moved to the office of the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Nze Uche Nworah to pay him a courtesy visit after which the team moved to Revenue House to have a brief chat with the management staff of AiRS.
From the Revenue House, the team went straight to Bon Hotel, Awka for the “Breakfast Meeting” with the CITN President, Dame Gladys Simplice as well as the CITN Delegates and FIRS.
Remember, this is the first time such elaborate Tax Awareness Week is being organized in Anambra State. At the end of this event, hopefully, something positive will begin to happen in Anambra State in the area of Tax Payment.
