Biometric Enumeration: AiRS Embarks On A Road To Sensitize The Publics.

The Anambra State Internal Revenue Service AiRS today went round the city of Awka to aggressively sensitize Ndi Anambra most especially the stakeholders and Operators on Transport sector in Anambra State comprising of Buses including Shuttle Buses, Try-Cycle otherwise known as Keke, Trucks including Mini-Trucks, Tippers, Lorries, Taxis etc. on the need to come out and avail themselves the opportunity to be part of the Biometrics Enumeration and Registration excersice currently going on in the State.

The exercise which commenced officially from Thursdays, June 2, 2022 and expected to last for 4 weeks in line with Gov. Soludo\’s directive, following his recent broadcast, is geared towards checkmating the bame of the current insecurity ravaging the State. This is to be able to elicit accurate data of the aforementioned commercial transport operators in the State and equally serve as data for revenue collection as part of the digital transformation in the revenue administration.

The use of \”Oramedia\” or \”Below-the-line\” system of sensitization in advertisement industry is often employed to consciously appeal to the grassroots apart from the mainstream radio and television communications/public announcement which has been on ground for the same purpose. It is expected that the operators should by this message endeavor to come out and participate on the enumeration exercise before the date given will elapse, knowing fully well that failure to comply attract strict enforcement and assets impoundment, hence the road show.

The biometrics enumeration and exercise is already taking place at the various designated ports which has since been communicated through the union exceutives.

The road show is expected to continue on Tuesday, next week in order to ensure maximum compliance by the operators within the period of the enumeration.
