State Assembly Committee on IGR visits AIRS.

Update From The Revenue House:…..

Earlier today, members of the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on IGR today Friday 18 August 2023 paid a familiarization/oversight visit to the Anamrbra State Board of Internal Revenue Service AiRS.

In his address, the Chairman of the committee leading the delegation, *Hon. Jude Ngobiri stated that their visit was part of the constitutional responsibility and oversight function in order to see that the vision of Gov Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR of making Anambra State a livable and prosperous homeland is actualized, adding that the tangential for this vision is to see that the State IGR has to be increased. Also to see that every revenue loopholes is blocked. He urged the AiRS Chairman to see the committee as partners in progress.

Also speaking, the Majority leader of the House , *Hon Owelle Ikenna Ofodeme* (Member representing Ekwusigo LGA) and also the Deputy Chairman of the Committee said that it is good that the relationship between House Committee on IGR and the Revenue House will assist the Board on areas activities regarding revenue administration and collection with a view to increasing the State IGR. He also maintained that revenue sensitization is very key and will help a great deal to assist the taxpayers on how to effectively go about making their revenue payments. In his words, \”the committee is working tirelessly to protect the interest of the State Government\”.

The Chàirman/Chief Executive Anambra State Board of Internal Revenue Service AiRS, Dr Greg Ezeilo FCA in his remark welcomed the delegation to the Revenue House and also used the opportunity to introduce to them some of the Heads of Department of the AiRS. He also promised to work in tandem with the committee and equally pleaded with them to help actualize the autonomy of the State Board of Internal Revenue Service.
