On Thursday September 7,2023 at the epoch making event in Anambra State dubbed *The Anambra Investment Summit 2023*. The event has sparked off a trail of positive activities that will lead to greater economic outcome for the State and its expected to open business opportunities from Anambra State to the world.
The chief host of the event, *Gov Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR* was in high spirit yesterday selling every *made-in-Anambra products* to the admiration of the participants drawn from all works of life and different parts of the world with a view to attract huge investments to the State. This is in line with the theme of the program *Laying the Foundation for a Prosperous and Smart Mega City*. The vision was simply to transform Anambra State into a prosperous and livable homeland. Various economic deals were signed and sealed yesterday, such as; *The Onitsha River Port by Universal Elysium Limited,* *Neni Water Scheme (PPCP) by Birsa Water Limited, Neni Development Union*, *NKO Agro Industrial Park by NKO Farms Limited*, *Afrexim Bank*, *Awka Shopping Mall by Sundry Markets Limited*, *Anambra Intra-City Rail Masterplan by CPCS Transcomm Limited*, *AAU Automotive Industrial Park by OMAA Global Engineering and Technology*, amongst others.
As expected, the *Anambra State Board of Internal Revenue Service AiRS* through the proactive Chairman/Chief Executive, *Dr Greg Ezeilo FCA* facilitated a spot tagged *AiRS Stand* at the event held at the prestigious *International Conference Center ICC Awka Anambra State*. Various individual taxpayer and companies visited the *AiRS Stand* for enquiries, *ASIN enrolment* etc among whom is the President General, *Anambra State League of Professionals*, *Barr Chijioke Okoli* who in an interview promised to be part of AiRS Ambassador in the course to propagating the importance of tax compliance amongst his colleagues, charging them with the need to bring back some of their businesses to the State in order to grow our IGR.
Dr Greg Ezeilo FCA attended the event alongside the Executive Director in charge of Direct Assessment AiRS, *Mr Ben Anierobi Okafor* and the SSA to Gov Soludo on IGR, *Mrs Kate Amara Oyeka* were all part of the event. It is expected that all things been equal, the investments coming into Anambra State will in turn grow the internally generated revenue IGR leveraging the Anambra\’s ranked first position among the South Eastern States on the ease of doing business.
The first ever Anambra Investment Summit 2023 is a testament to the fact that \”IGR is everything and everything is IGR\”, in the words of the Chairman/Chief Executive Anambra State Board of Internal Revenue Service AiRS, Dr Greg Ezeilo FCA.
